Fast, Safe Horizontal Patient Evacuation
The EVAC Patient Transfer Sheet is a finished aid for patient evacuation that helps trained personnel secure and move bedridden or mobility-impaired patients during an emergency evacuation. It is designed to be placed between the mattress and the bed and kept ready for use at all times.
During evacuation, integrated straps secure the patient in place, while reinforced handles and straps allow trained personnel to move them in a controlled way toward the designated safe area. Woven from a heavy-duty Oxford fabric (internally referenced as the Kodro weave) reinforced with PES handles and straps, the sheet is built for repeated hard use.
It can be sprayed and wiped down with hospital-grade disinfectant, or machine washed at temperatures up to 90°C, and is compatible with steam sterilization (autoclave) under validated conditions. Suited to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and emergency-response environments.

The Evac Sheet stays folded between the mattress and the bed base at all times, ready for immediate use. In an urgent evacuation, one rescuer can move the patient to safety using the foot-end handle alone.
Maintenance
Cleaning, Disinfection & Drying
Inspect after each cleaning for damage, tears, loose seams or damaged handles — do not use if any damage is found. Store clean and dry, protected from direct sunlight, between 0°C and +45°C; do not store under heavy objects.

Indications & Contraindications
Indicated for patients who are:
Non-ambulatory · Semi-conscious or unconscious · Physically immobilized due to injury, illness or surgery · In need of emergency evacuation from a hospital, ambulance, home or disaster zone · At risk of pressure injuries and requiring frequent repositioning.
Not to be used for:
Vertical lifting via crane, hoist or pulley · Loads exceeding the 250 kg safe working load · Use on rough/abrasive surfaces · Use if visibly damaged, torn or with compromised stitching or handles · Long-term bedding — intended for short-term transfer only.

Can the sheet be used for vertical lifting?
No. The sheet is designed and tested only for horizontal transfer or repositioning — it must never be used for suspension by crane, hoist or pulley.

Typically 2-6 trained personnel, depending on the patient’s weight and condition, using all handles evenly to distribute the load. In an urgent evacuation, a single rescuer can pull the patient to safety using the foot-end handle.
How long can the sheet be stored and used?
If stored properly – cool, dry, away from direct sunlight, between 0C and +45C – the sheet can be used for at least 15 years provided it has not been deployed in an actual rescue situation. Regular function checks are recommended.
