Placing the Evac Sheet
Always Ready, Right Under the Mattress
The Evac Sheet must be placed securely between the mattress and the bed. Fasten the safety straps around the patient to ensure their stability during evacuation — the sheet stays folded and ready for immediate use, at all times.

Grasp, turn, slide — feet first
Grasp the handle at the foot of the bed and turn the mattress around 90°. Slide the patient down onto the floor and pull them toward the designated gathering point, keeping your back straight throughout.

Where is the EVAC sheet kept and how is it used in an evacuation?
The sheet stays folded between the mattress and the bed base, ready for immediate use. In an evacuation the safety straps are fastened around the patient, the mattress is turned about 90° using the foot-end handle, and the patient is slid down to the floor and pulled feet-first to the gathering point.
What is the EVAC sheet made of, and which sizes are available?
It is made from a heavy-duty navy blue Oxford weave of 200 g/m² (±10%), reinforced with PES handles and straps. There are no fixed dimensions: the sheet is manufactured to any size on request.
Is the sheet flame retardant and suitable for cold conditions?
Yes. It meets the BS 7175:1989 Crib 5 acceptance criteria and is rated B1 to DIN 4102-1. It also passed low-temperature bend testing at −20 °C with no cracking (DIN EN 1876-1), so it is reliable in ambulances and outdoors.
Is the EVAC sheet a medical device?
Yes. It is a Class I medical device under EU MDR 2017/745 (Rule I) with Basic UDI-DI 8682550EVAC8W, produced under an EN ISO 13485 quality management system.
