EcoCoverlay Reusable Surface Protection
EcoCoverlay is a reusable temporary floor protection felt by Gentuğ Textile: a 265 g/m² felt made with 57% recycled PES and a self-adhesive thermoplastic underside that holds on the floor, protects it on site and lifts off without residue.
Product Overview
Grip Without the Trace
Construction, renovation and fit-out work puts finished floors at risk. Single-use films leave residue, loose covers slip underfoot and cardboard soaks through. EcoCoverlay is Gentuğ Textile’s answer: a temporary protection fleece that stays in place, protects the surface and comes off clean.
The top layer is a needled felt made with 57% recycled PES that cushions the floor against tools, dropped objects and foot traffic. The underside is a self-adhesive thermoplastic coating of 28% PVC and 15% PU: its tack comes from the coating itself, with no separate glue layer. It holds the fleece firmly on the floor without tape and resists liquids, yet leaves no adhesive film or marks when removed.
After the job, EcoCoverlay is simply rolled up and taken to the next site. Reusable project after project, it cuts material costs and waste compared with disposable protection.
Product demonstration: laying, utility knife drop test and residue-free removal.

Key Properties
Protection That Stays, Removal That’s Clean
Self-Adhesive, Anti-Slip
The thermoplastic underside adheres to the floor by itself – no glue layer, no tape – so the fleece stays in place and does not slip.
Residue-Free Removal
Peels away cleanly – no adhesive film, no marks, no post-installation cleaning of the substrate.
Reusable Across Projects
Roll up after use and deploy again, reducing material cost per project and waste.
Impact Protection
A 265 g/m² recycled PES felt face cushions the floor against tools, dropped objects and foot traffic.
Liquid Barrier, Absorbent Option
The coated underside resists liquid penetration (min. 0.2 bar, EN ISO 811). An absorbent felt finish is available as an option.
Built for Site Use
Min. 280 N/5 cm tensile strength and 40,000 Martindale cycles abrasion resistance.
Surface & Structure
Soft Felt. Smart Coating.
Two surfaces, one solution
EcoCoverlay combines a needled felt face with a self-adhesive thermoplastic coating. The felt does the protecting; the coating holds the fleece on the floor and provides a liquid barrier.
Surface Compatibility
Suitable for Sensitive Floors
Check compatibility on a small, inconspicuous area before use.
Why EcoCoverlay
Solving the Weak Points of Common Floor Protection
vs. single-use PE film
No residue, no disposal

vs. loose covers
Stays in place
Holds on the floor without tape, so it does not slip or shift underfoot.
vs. felt underlay
Made for protection duty
Engineered with a self-adhesive coated underside that stays in place and resists liquids.
vs. cardboard & paper
Durable & moisture-resistant
Does not soften or tear when wet and can be repositioned.

Can EcoCoverlay be used on boats and in restaurants?
Yes. In shipyards and marinas it protects finished interior floors, cabin floors, tables and work areas during refits, repairs and seasonal maintenance. In restaurants and hospitality it can be used as an economical felt table covering or as a protective layer beneath a decorative tablecloth.
What is EcoCoverlay?
EcoCoverlay is a reusable temporary surface protection felt by Gentuğ Textile. A needled felt top made with 57% recycled PES is combined with a self-adhesive thermoplastic underside (28% PVC + 15% PU) that holds on the floor and removes without residue.
How does EcoCoverlay stay in place without leaving residue?
The underside is a self-adhesive thermoplastic coating. Its tack comes from the coating itself rather than a separate glue layer, so it holds firmly on the floor without tape and lifts off cleanly, leaving no adhesive film or marks.
Is EcoCoverlay absorbent?
The coated underside acts as a liquid barrier (min. 0.2 bar, EN ISO 811), protecting the floor below. An absorbent felt finish that takes up liquids on the top surface is available as an option on request.
Which floors can it be used on?
It is suitable for hardwood and parquet, ceramic tile, natural stone, laminate and LVT, linoleum and vinyl, concrete and screed, carpet and stairs. As with any protection product, test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
