EasyWipe Bi-Elastic PU is a 4-way stretch, PU-coated medical fabric for mattress, pillow and duvet covers that wipes clean and resists hospital disinfection.
Product Overview
Protection That Moves With the Patient
Caretex® EasyWipe® Bi-Elastic PU is a high-specification medical fabric made from polyester knit with a polyurethane coating. It stretches in four directions, so covers made from it follow the shape of the mattress and the movement of the patient without forming micro-wrinkles, a key factor in reducing the risk of pressure ulcers.
The smooth PU surface is liquidproof and wipes clean in seconds, forming a complete barrier against blood, infusion liquids and urine while protecting both the patient and the mattress. Covers can be HF welded with no stitching at all, fitted with a 3-sided hidden waterproof zipper, or made as fitted sheets with elastic corners.
EasyWipe is designed for hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes. It is latex-free, OEKO-TEX® certified and tested for biocompatibility to ISO 10993.

Why bi-elastic matters
Conventional coated fabrics are stiff in one direction. When a patient moves or a pressure-redistributing mattress changes shape, the cover wrinkles and creates pressure points and shear on the skin.

Multi-Color UV Print Technology
Beyond its protective performance, EasyWipe covers can be finished with multi-color UV print technology — applying vivid, high-definition custom designs directly onto the cover surface.
Hospitals, care groups and distributors can add their own logo, brand identity, department colour-coding or foot-orientation markings, turning every cover into a branded, easily identifiable asset. The cured UV print bonds to the PU surface, so it stays sharp and fade-resistant through repeated wiping and routine disinfection.

Is EasyWipe a medical device?
Yes. The EasyWipe PU medical mattress cover is a Class I medical device under EU MDR 2017/745 (Annex VIII, Rule I) with Basic UDI-DI 8682550ESYWBX, registered in EUDAMED.
How does the 4-way stretch help patients?
The bi-elastic fabric stretches in all four directions and moves with the patient and the mattress. This prevents micro-wrinkles under the body, which helps reduce shear and the risk of pressure ulcers (decubitus).
Which disinfectants can be used?
Most hospital disinfectants based on quaternary ammonium, chlorhexidine, peroxides, alcohol blends and chlorine up to 1,000 ppm are compatible. Avoid prolonged contact with 3% sodium hypochlorite, pure isopropyl alcohol and iodine tincture. For heavy chlorine use, choose the Resilience® (10,000 ppm) or Fortitude® (50,000 ppm) grades.
Can EasyWipe be washed or autoclaved?
Yes. It can be machine washed at 90 °C and autoclaved at 135 °C. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean; tumble dry at low temperature.
Is it available in custom sizes and colours?
Yes. Standard sizes range from 70×140 to 200×220 cm, with custom widths on request. The fabric comes in 12 colours from 120 to 300 g/m² and is also sold by the metre up to 220 cm wide.
